Biography

Liberty Phoenix is an American actress who has acted in two TV productions such as Kate's Secret and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers as a child artist. She is the younger sister of famous Phoenix siblings Joaquin Phoenix, River Phoenix, and Rain Phoenix.

Childhood- Family

Liberty Mariposa Phoenix was born on 5th July 1976 in Caracas, Venezuela (where her parents were working as missionaries) as Libertad Mariposa Bottom to Arlyn Phoenix(Mother) & John Lee Bottom(Father). Her middle name 'Mariposa' means butterfly.

Parents

Her mother Arlyn Sharon Phoenix(née Dunetz) was born in New York City to Jewish parents (Margaret Lefkowitz from Hungary and Meyer Dunetz from Russia). She is commnly known as Heart Phoenix. She has worked as the executive director of The Florida School of Traditional Midwifery. She is a social activist, she co-founded 'River Phoenix Center', through which she promotes practices and principles of peacebuilding and global sustainability. She is a Vegan.

Her father John Lee Bottom was of English (along wtih Scots-Irish/ Northen Irish), French (Huguenot), German, Irish, Welsh ancestry, he was from California.

She has 3 elder siblings in River Phoenix(brother), Rain Phoenix(sister), Joaquin Phoenix(brother) and a younger sister in Summer Phoenix(brother). She also has an elder half-sister named Jodean Trust Bottom from father's previous relationship.

Ernesto Asch

Liberty married Ernesto on August 11th of 1996. The two have three children together-

1. Rio Julio Miguel Asch Phoenix (Son; born June 1997; named after his uncle River Phoenix, Rio means River in Spanish)
2. Scarlette Jasmine Phoenix Asch (daughter; born July 2, 2001)
3. Indigo Orion Asch Phoenix (son) passed away in Decemeber 2001 from pneumonia. They divorced on 24th September 2003.

Andy Lord

Liberty is married to Andy Lord. She has two children with him,

1. Emily Lord Phoenix (daughter)
2. Leo Lord Phoenix (son)

Career- Filmography

She has appeared in American musical TV series Seven Brides for Seven Brothers(1982) as Christie in the episode "Christmas Song" (S1E13). Then later in TV drama film Kate's Secret(1986) as Brownie Scout

The Causey Way

Liberty along with her siblings Rain Phoenix & Summer Phoenix founded the punk/ new wave music band "The Causey Way" in 1997. Some of the music items they produced are:

The band disbanded in 2001. Liberty continued to work in Rain's band the Papercranes as backup vocal.

Indigo Green Store

In 2007 Liberty started a eco-friendly, Green Building Supply Store inGainesville, Florida (322, SW 4th Avenue). One of her babies died in nursery due to toxic gas leak, it pushed her to open a toxic free store.

River Phoenix Centre for Peace building

Liberty works as an office manager in the charity foundation founded by her mother in memory of her son River Phoenix. Her other siblings such as Rain, Joaquin, Summer have all been additional board members at the foundation.

Fashion Designer

Liberty along with Summer Phoenix and Ruby Canner designs skirts, dresses for the store "Some Odd Rubies" (151 Ludlow St New York, NY 10002). The store is co-owned by her sister Summer.

She ran a clothing design shop out of her garage called "LP Originals"

She is on board of 'United States Green Building Council'. She has taught at the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery. She has been a realtor in Alachua Count since 2005. She had a pie-selling business too.

She has sat on the Board of directors for the USGBC Heart of Florida Chapter as both the Treasurer and Co-Chair of the Education Committee. She has been with RPCP since it's inception.
