Gayatri Pullela Gopichand is an young Indian Badminton player, she was born on 4th March 2003 to Pullela Gopichand(father)- former badminton player & now coach & P V V Lakshmi(Mother)- a badminton player as well.

Gayatri Pullela Gopichand Interesting Facts
- Gayatri was a Under 13 National Badminton Champion.
- She trains at her father's badminton academy- Gopichand Badminton academy.
- Her younger brother Vishnu is also a badminton player, he trains alongside his sister.
- At age 12 she became the younger girl to represent any country at the youth championships. She represented India in October 2017 at Kudus, Indonesia.
- She represented Indian U-15 & U-17 at the age of 12.
- She won national level championship at the age of 12 in both U-13 & U-15 category.
- She trains for about 7 hours a day at the academy, starting at 4.30 AM & trains for 3/4 sessions a day.
- Gayatri doesn't go to school except for exams, she takes tutorials at home, studies herself and gives exams.
- Controversy: Her father was accused of favoritism in picking his own daughter ahead of others, Badminton Authority of India denied any favoritism. They clarified players are not selected only on rankings but also on other factors like- domestic competition, selection competition, head to head games, ability to finish on podium.
- Double golds: In early 2017 she won 2 Golds (individual + women doubles) at the Junior Grand Prix in Jakarta.
